Meeting/Check In

Coach's Meeting @ TBA:  Mandatory!  If you are not there (or have a team rep. there) you MUST pay $40 before your first game.  This meeting will take place on the first day of tournament.

Team Check In begins at TBA:  All players must be at check-in.  If there are extenuating circumstances that prevents a player from being at team check in you must notify the USBA prior to arrival for approval to allow this player to play.  The USBA will interview players during this time to insure eligibility.  All forms will be turn in and checked (see info to left to know what forms have to be turned in to USBA in a "manila envelope").  This meeting will take place after the coaches meeting the first day listed for your age group/gender.

USBA Store Hours

Daily:  11:00am-4:00pm

Saturday:  extended hours through all championship games

The USBA Store will be located in the North Myrtle Beach High School gym lobby.  USBA gear will be sold including t-shirts, shorts, coaches shirts, bags and other merchandise.

DAILY ADMISSION CHARGE

All National Championships are 4 game guarantees.  3 pool games and then teams are seeded into a single elimination bracket

Game Schedule

Please adhere to registration deadlines as "no late entries" will be accepted.  We WILL NOT accept request for certain game times.  Once the schedule is complete it will NOT be changed.  Teams must be prepared to play following the Mandatory Coaches Meeting.

DO NOT MAIL OR FAX ANYTHING to the USBA.  You will need to have ALL the documents listed below when you arrive for the coaches meeting.  Please put all documents in a "manila envelope"  with your team name, age group, head coaches name and contact phone # (cell or number while at Nationals) clearly marked on the outside.  Once you turn this information in you will not get it back.

If you do not have all forms for each player, that player WILL NOT play!!!

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE ABOVE INFO WHEN ARRIVING FOR THE COACHES MEETING YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY.  All info will be turned in when you arrive.  DO NOT mail or fax anything.  Be sure to make copies as documents will not be returned.

GYMS

USBA will not tolerate any misbehavior on or off the court (INCLUDING all hotels)!  If any misbehavior is reported from Hotels, coaches, players, or parents USBA reserves the right to disqualify the team from nationals with no refund!

2010 DIVISIONS FOR BOYS NATIONALS

 Upon registering for nationals, you may choose either division to play in.  The two divisions are available for the USBA National Championship only, and are not offered for the 2010 USBA regular season.

National Division:  This division is the upper level for elite teams.  Teams that normally play in Division I in other organizations would need to register for this division.  

American Division:  This division is the the second tier level teams.  Teams that normally play in Division II in other organizations would need to register for this division. 

Note:  If an age group doesn't get enough teams to have both divisions then USBA will combine both to have one division for that age group.

"USBA recommends that all teams come down at least one day prior to the first day of nationals as the mandatory team check in (with players) and the mandatory coaches meeting will take place first thing in the morning of the first day."

Coaches Passes

Every team will be given 3 weekly coaches passes to wear on their wrist (MUST be on wrist in order to get in gym for free - NO EXCEPTIONS).  A 4th coaches pass can be purchased at "team check-in" ONLY for $20.  You will not be able to purchase this any other time.  ONLY one additional coaches pass can be purchased per team - NO EXCEPTIONS.  Everyone else will have to purchase daily tickets at the door to enter.  The 4th coaches pass is not required to purchase if you don't need it.

Practice Gym Available

The auxiliary gym at North Myrtle Beach HS will be available for teams to rent each day (except day 1 of Nationals) for practice.  You must reserve your date/time by sending an email to gymrental@usbahoops.com.  See rates below: TBA

Dress Code

Coaches are expected to dress appropriately for games.  We realize you are in North Myrtle Beach, SC in the summer.  With that said, dress shorts, team t-shirt and shoes are acceptable.  No caps, tank tops or flip flops are allowed.

Contests

There will be a 3 point shooting & "hot shot" competition.  Each team can have one player per team/per contest participate.  The entry fee is $5 per player/per contest.  Teams will register and pay at the coaches meeting.  The date and time will be announced at the "coaches meeting".

"Hot Shot" contest rules:

Each player will get 1:00 to shoot and make as many points as possible. Points will be rewarded on the following basis: 1 point for a lay-up, 2 points for a "free throw" area jump shot (15 feet), 3 points for a three pointer (feet must be behind the line). The player in each age group with the highest amount of points will be the winner. If two or more players are tied after one minute, then there will be a 30 second overtime to determine the winner.

"3-Point Contest" rules:

Each player will be given 1:00 to shoot as many 3 pointers as possible. He is allowed two teammates or coaches to rebound. He may move around the 3 point line or remain in one spot, but both feet must be behind the line in order for the shot to count. If two or more players are tied at the end, a 30 second overtime will be used to determine the winner.
