NATIONALS INFO

Please read all information on this page. Additional info on individual weeks of Nationals can be found at the bottom of this page.

Please adhere to registration deadlines as "no late entries" will be accepted.  We WILL NOT accept request for certain game times.  Once the schedule is complete it will NOT be changed.  Teams must be prepared to play following the Mandatory Coaches Meeting.

DO NOT MAIL OR FAX ANYTHING to the USBA.  You will need to have ALL the documents listed below when you arrive for the coaches meeting.  Please put all documents in a "manila envelope"  with your team name, age group, head coaches name and contact phone # (cell or number while at Nationals) clearly marked on the outside.  Once you turn this information in you will not get it back.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE ABOVE INFO (a-f) WHEN ARRIVING FOR THE COACHES MEETING YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY.  All info will be turned in when you arrive.  DO NOT mail or fax anything.  Be sure to make copies as documents will not be returned.

AT-LARGE TEAMS ACCEPTED TO NATIONALS

The USBA does accept at-large teams to the National tournament.  We realize that there are states where we either do not have tournaments or there are simply not enough to participate in two qualifying.  If you fall in that category and would like to enter our National Championship tournament, please email us your request to info@usbahoops.com

Random Interviews

Tournament officials will complete "random interviews" of players throughout the tournament to assure fair play.  If we request to interview one of your players, please do not take offense, as we only do this to assure all teams that players are eligible for the age division in which they are playing.  Any team found playing an ineligible player will be dismissed from the tournament immediately without a refund.

Contests

There will be a 3 point shooting & "hot shot" competition on Thursday at 6pm.   Each team can have two players per team/per contest participate.  The entry fee is $5 per player/per contest.  Click Here To Register For Contest.  There will be an opportunity to register while at Nationals.  The date and time will be announced at the "coaches meeting".

"Hot Shot" contest rules:

Each player will get 1:00 to shoot and make as many points as possible. Points will be rewarded on the following basis: 1 point for a lay-up, 2 points for a "free throw" area jump shot (15 feet), 3 points for a three pointer (feet must be behind the line). The player in each age group with the highest amount of points will be the winner. If two or more players are tied after one minute, then there will be a 30 second overtime to determine the winner.

"3-Point Contest" rules:

Each player will be given 1:00 to shoot as many 3 pointers as possible. He is allowed two teammates or coaches to rebound. He may move around the 3 point line or remain in one spot, but both feet must be behind the line in order for the shot to count. If two or more players are tied at the end, a 30 second overtime will be used to determine the winner.
