USBA reserves the right to revoke any teams membership and to deny teams entry to any sanctioned USBA event.

ELIGIBILITY

All USBA basketball tournaments are age-based with defining parameters based on birth dates that allow players in each specific division to compete only against other players at the same age level. Eligibility is based first on the age determining date. September 1, 2008 shall be the determining date for boys while July 1, 2008 is the age determining date for girls.

All players MUST participate in their own age level or above.

Players may play in multiple age levels in any given tournament except STATE, REGIONAL & NATIONALS.

A birth certificate (copy) for each player must be in the coaches possession at all times during the tournament. A copy of the complete roster must be in the coaches possession at all times during the tournament.

AGE DETERMINING DATE CHANGED FOR GIRLS: The age determining date for girls has been changed from Jan 1 to July 1 for the 2008 season. The change for 2008 is intended to allow girls with early birth dates in a class compete with other girls in the same class. This change DOES NOT affect the 16U division as the age determining date for 16U will remain Jan 1, 1990.

Effective Immediately: Girls are allowed one age exception per team.

GIRLS

July 1, 2007 shall be the age determining date for the competitor. In other words, if a girl was born after July 1 1994, she would be eligible to play 12U in 2008.

**Allowed one age exception. For example, a 13U girls team can have one 14U girl on their team.

BOYS

September 1, 2008 shall be the determining date for the age of the competitor and shall hold true for all USBA tournaments. In other words, if a boy was born in 1992 and his birthday is AFTER September 1 he would be eligible to play 15/under. BOYS: The grade is NOT a consideration if the athlete meets the age determining date. An athlete that does not meet the age determining date may qualify under the grade exception rule. See chart below.

11 UNDER*	1996	A player in the 5th grade born after Sept 1, 1995
12 UNDER*	1995	A player in the 6th grade born after Sept 1, 1994
13 UNDER*	1994	A player in the 7th grade born after Sept 1, 1993
14 UNDER*	1993	A player in the 8th grade born after Sept 1, 1992
15 UNDER**	1992	A player in the 9th grade born after Sept 1, 1991
16 UNDER**	1991	A player in the 10th grade born after Sept 1, 1990
17+**		Seniors between the ages of 17-19 (Sept 1 of current year) are eligible to play in this division, as long as that player has not declared, or been accepted to a college or university. Players must have graduated in 2008. If a player is attending a prep school you must submit a letter of enrollment from that prep school, along with your birth certificate.

BOYS GRADE EXCEPTIONS

Ages 9-14 can have up to three grade exceptions.*

Ages 15 & up can have unlimited grade exceptions.**
