2012 ELIGIBILITY
ELIGIBILTY FOR BOYS
& GIRLS

All USBA basketball tournaments are grade-based.
All players
MUST participate in their own grade level or above.
Players
CANNOT play in multiple grade levels in any given tournament.
NEW: PLAYERS
MUST BE ENROLLED IN SCHOOL TO BE ELIGIBLE. A CURRENT REPORT CARD
FROM THE 2011-12 SCHOOL YEAR INDICATING
GRADE MUST BE PRESENTED AT CHECK-IN.
A current
report card indicating grade & a birth certificate
(copy) for each player must be presented at check-in for each USBA
tournament. In addition the report card & birth certificate must
be in the coaches possession at all times
during the tournament. A copy of the complete roster must be
turned in at check-in. Players cannot be added to the roster after
the tournament begins.
Home school
participants - grade does not matter...players will use their age to
determine what division they are in. For example, a 12 and under
age player would play in the 6th grade division
GIRLS
New
Age Determination Date (“ADD”) Applicable for 2012 Season
Starting with the 2011 USBA season, the USBA Girls' Basketball has
gone to a strict grade basis for determining its division. There
are age maximums for each grade, but the age is very old and so in
nearly every circumstance a player's grade will determine the division
in which they can play.
In fact, the division names have been changed from an aged basis to a
grade basis. This means no more "12-Under" teams as an old 12-Under
team is now a "Sixth Grade" team.
**NOTE: USBA will not be
allowing one age exception this year for the girls division...therefore
if you are a 10th grade team you can NOT have a player in the 11th grade
playing for you unless she meets the age requirements

are a year younger will be given permission to play down in the same
age/grade level as previous years.
